How to Fix Your TV Confusion Problems

To many people, there's nothing more confusing than a television's instructions. Using the remote control to operate it feels like you're doing surgery. And to top it all of, there's a separate remote for the DVD player! How can you go from technology dud to technology stud - or at least, someone who's proficient enough to get the TV to work consistently?

You've come to the right place. If you want to fix your TV confusion problems, follow some of these simple strategies.

Go through as much as you can on the day of installation. If your TV is easy to use upon installation. Congratulations. The people who have TV confusion problems hate you. For the rest of us, using a TV isn't as simple as plugging in and turning it on. So if you do find yourself struggling with the instructions and calling tech support, use that opportunity to learn as much about your TV as you can. Have a pad of paper out and take notes. Write down everything you think you'll need. Ask questions directly if you're unsure about something. What you learn now will pay off because it will save you headaches later.

If you already own a television, simply call tech support again - or better yet, ask someone who knows more about technology than you do to explain how it all works. Again, don't be embarrassed to write things down. You might be surprised to see how much you learn from that simple act.

Trial and error. Sometimes, the best you can do to learn is simple trial-and-error. If you actually decide to learn from what doesn't work as well as learning from what does work, you'll learn all there is to know about your television in a relatively short time. If you're having trouble finding out which chords are the right ones to plug in, try every variation possible until you've got a winner. You might just end up finding the right combination earlier than you though. Voila!

Technology is here to make your life better. So don't be afraid to ask dumb questions to tech support, or even the 18-year-old kid from next door who seems to know technology better than you ever will. If you don't want to learn something, then you won't anything!
